What would you attempt…if you knew you could not fail? Most of our mediocrity is wrapped up in the fear of failure or rejection. We often refuse to step into the purpose God has for us because we would rather do what’s safe, than take a risk. My husband and I would never have our production company, which has allowed us to serve the church in ways we never could have fathomed, if we would have played it safe. I never would have stepped into homeschooling my children, which has been our greatest adventure, if I would have hid from such a huge undertaking, that frankly terrified me! We never would have our precious Harper if we would have played it safe, after 2 miscarriages, one which was at 19 weeks!
We are so afraid of failing, or being rejected, or hurting, that we allow the potential for greatness and massive blessings pass us by. God did not create you to be mediocre. You are a child of the King of kings. He does nothing with mediocrity. Do you think He would have wasted His time creating you, His masterpiece, if He didn’t have a well thought out plan, something meaningful and purposeful for you here on this earth!?
I think it’s time for many of us to face our fears. To step into our calling. To stop caring what other people think or say! The only thing that matters is that you are running this race with Jesus by your side. That you are pleasing Him…not the world. Don’t let the fear of failure rob you of your victory!
Be afraid…and do it anyway.
